Job Description

Projects are usually separate to usual day-to-day business activities and require a group of people to work together to achieve a set of specific objectives. Therefore, the project manager must be very clear of what he/she must deliver, who he/she is dealing with, and what is to expect from the management.

Project managers oversee the project to ensure the desired result is achieved, the most efficient resources are used and the different interests involved are satisfied:

  • Ensure that a project is completed on time and within budget
  • Ensure that the project's objectives are met - SOW, Milestones, Objectives of the project
  • Ensure that everyone else is doing their job properly - Timesheet, Deliverables

Responsibilities include:

  • Agreeing on project objectives and scope
  • Representing both the client's and the organisation's interests
  • Providing advice on the management of projects
  • Mobilizing and Organising of various professional people who are working on a project
  • Carrying out risk assessment and proposes mitigation
  • Making sure that all the aims of the project are met
  • Making sure the quality standards are met
  • Using IT systems to keep track of people and progress
  • Monitoring sub-contractors to ensure guidelines are maintained
  • Overseeing the accounting, costing and billing


  • A significant body of experience in the appropriate field (Less experience people may apply for Assistant PM role or people who are considering changing role)
  • Member of a professional or chartered body is a plus
  • University or College graduates with good degree in IT or business management. We may consider people with other majors, but have done similar job in the past
  • Understanding of end-to-end project management methodology and deliverables, SDLC process
  • Understanding of Agile project management methodology and Agile development process is a plus
  • Understanding of Digital Banking, FinTech is a plus
  • Experience in managing a medium to large size project is a plus
  • Core Banking or Banking IT background is must
  • Technically sound and understanding of banking business
  • Multi-lingual - English / Chinese / Malay / Others
  • Able to travel
