Job description

My client who is one of the largest providers of passenger transport in Europe is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager who will be responsible for the leadership and direct management of a number of key projects to drive forward a large Business Transformation Programme.

In addition, the role will have responsibility and accountability for controlling the delivery and spend to a defined budget. Track the project spend during the life of the project.

The role also has the responsibility for managing input to business-wide savings and capital expenditure. Responsible for the documented handover of the benefits to the accountable business owner

Main responsibilities

*Lead the project and be responsible for its delivery on time, to budget and to quality
*Manages the detailed day to day activities that will deliver the objectives of a project and keeps detailed track of all component parts, working with stakeholders, SMEs and other resource to get the inputs required to deliver on time and to budget.
*Is the go-to person for a view on the following:
-Performance against budget and schedule
-Achievements this period
-Plans for next period
-Problem areas and actions being taken
-Status of project risks
-Significant decisions taken since last report
-Escalations to senior team that may be required
-The status of project deliverables, with actual status market against due date
-An overall cost summary
*Will interrogate the benefits plan to ensure that there is no 'double counting' and that business owners and Programme/project managers are clear what they are attributing benefits to
*Will publish and report on benefits against the baseline at monthly benefits steering group.
*Challenges and supports, as necessary to ensure expenditure is justified and business cases are robust.
*Owns the project and its outcome
