Job Description

An exciting, rapidly growing, entrepreneurial business is looking to appoint a high calibre Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to be based in the East Midlands.

With ambitious growth plans, the CFO position will play an important role in developing the future business strategy and building a robust finance function. Managing all hands-on operational aspects of the Group, providing financial information and the broader stewardship function to the company and stakeholders. Reporting to the CEO.

As the newly appointed CFO you will be responsible for the financial management of the company. To include the development of a commercial and operational 3-5 year strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems and the reporting of accurate financial results. Formulating the company's future direction and driving tactical/operational initiatives with the board.

This will be a high impact, high profile position as the company is embarks upon an exciting period of growth and transformation. Instigating and managing change, as well as managing and motivating the Infrastructure teams across, Finance, Settlements, Audit and credit control to deliver high standards of performance and developing talent internally are critical.

Skills, Attributes and Qualifications

A qualified Chartered Accountant ACA (ICAEW), CA or equivalent

Demonstrate several years of audit and/or industry accounting experience along with significant post qualification experience

A strategic thinker with a sound understanding of business and commercial drivers as well as being able to provide commentary and insight into financial reporting and analysis

Be able to build and operate a tightly controlled finance function

Be able to demonstrate proven business process change and continuous improvement experience

Proven planning and project implementation skills - ability to work under pressure and prioritise/deliver key projects and tasks, assessing risks and potential gains

Strong team management skills, demonstrable ability to motivate, influence and persuade both within own team and across the company including Board level

Be proactive and have a continuous improvement approach to current financial processes and propose/devise improvements that take into account broader business/group issues and restraints

Demonstrate ability to think logically and laterally to provide solutions to complex problems/issues

Poised for the next stage in its development the business now requires a highly competent, technically astute and commercially minded individual.

Salary as a guideline, basic £130-190K plus bonus and benefits.
